WHO ARE WE?

Dear delegates, and fellow international relations and diplomacy enthusiasts,

Assas Model United Nations is a student association from Paris-Panthéon-Assas University, founded in 2008 as the Association de Négociations Internationales de l’Université Paris II Panthéon Assas.

Our main goal is to train and prepare our members to participate in Model United Nations conferences in France and abroad. Thus, we organize weekly MUN sessions in our university, which are not only a space to sharpen our debating skills, but also an opportunity to deepen our understanding on regional and international affairs, within the walls that once shaped the current leaders of international politics.

In the past several years, we decided to broaden our horizons and take our teams to international conferences. Since then, we went to New York, Rome, London, Madrid, Manilla, Geneva, and we debated people from around the world.. Many of our members have earned internationally recognized awards, thanks to their hard work and commitment! 

Don’t be mistaken, while we do love exploring major foreign cities, Paris is also a landmark for MUN lovers worldwide! Assas MUN helps organize and participates yearly in the Paris International Model United Nations (PIMUN) conference, hosted by our university in 2024 and 2025!

Next to our simulations, we organize thought-provoking lectures and debates. The goal? Increase students’ understanding of international relations and diplomatic challenges. We had the honor of receiving distinguished guests, namely His Excellency Eric Danon, Mr Loïc Hervé, His Excellency Eric Ngoy Kasongo, Her Excellency Michèle Ramis and Chief Charles Taku.

Rest assured, if you miss us outside the university walls, there are many ways to stay in touch. We have our very own podcast on Spotify as well as newsletters, both produced by our members and which focus on our takes on current international affairs.

We are proud to say that Assas MUN is one of the most diverse associations from our university. At the heart of our commitment stand our values! We promote tolerance, mutual respect, and openness. Our members come from around the globe, and we know that this diversity enriches our discussions and our community.
